Ref 1471100 Job Title Calibration Engineer Location West Midlands Job type Temporary Salary Negotiable Category Automotive Job description An automotive OEM requires a Calibration Engineer based in Gaydon.
Position Description: Calibration of Hybrid or Micro Hybrid functions of Powertrain Engineer. Responsible for calibration delivery of Hybrid plug in for Powertrain Control Module for Micro Hybrid. Responsible for controls development and calibration for the full Hybrid Torque Manager. Accountable to Manager of the Hybrid Controls Team and integral part of vehicle calibration group for the vehicle.
Skills Required: Previous experience of on vehicle control system development and calibration o Able to work with engines or vehicle test bed, chassis rolling road and proving ground o Understanding of the trade offs between fuel economy, emissions and driveability o A working understanding of Hybrid Technology, its fundamental principles and vehicle supervisory control systems o Capable in Matlab/Simulink.
Experience of dSpace/ControlDesk and INCA. It is not expected that anyone without an Electrical/Electronic/Engine Development background could achieve Calibrator capability. The calibrator must have a client PG2 Licence.
Experience Required: Define the level of skill required in the critical technical aspects of the position 1- Expert 2. User 3. Novice Skills Level of Skill Matlab/Simulink 2 dSpace/Control Desk and INCA 2 Powertrain Calibration 2 or Other system calibration 2.
