Job Description
Salary: £30,000 and £32,000 with added bonus and benefits


Our client is based in the Guildford area. They are a provider of the whole spectrum of ophthalmic health care including diagnosis, treatment and surgery for refractive, cosmetic and general eye conditions on a day care treatment basis.
If you are a Scrub Nurse/ODP and looking for a new challenge within ophthalmic health care within a Private Hospital setting we would like to hear from you.

For this role you would need to be an RGN minimum band 6 nursing level, also have ophthalmic theatres and/or A&E and Outpatient Department
Clinical Governance and relevant healthcare legislation and frameworks
Purpose of the post
The Scub Nurse will be responsible for participating in all aspects of Ophthalmic surgery, will ensure a comprehensive level of care provision ensuring the patient is regularly updated to encompass change and will deliver highly skilled patient-centered care to all Ophthalmic patients within the hospital. Assistance will be required for the out of hour's service for continuity of care.
Operational Support
Use clinical judgement and analytical skills to pro-actively identify potential problems during surgery, work with the Consultant/Surgeon supporting them and delivering excellent care to patients, provide scrub assistance and expert advice for patients. Administer drugs and treatments, organise notes and hospital lists, manage administration tasks and reports.
Service Quality and Governance
Ensure awareness of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment in the surgical department, ensure correct storage of all equipment, help control cross infection, follow correct procedures, assist the Clinical team Leader and deliver excellent customer service.
Requirements
The job holder is required to participate in the appraisal process and to complete the internal clinical competency programme. Required to demonstrate CPD.
The job holder will have a responsibility for managing risk, infection control and H&S
Person Specification
Registered General Nurse minimum band 6
Qualification in operating practice
Effective written and oral communication skills
strong IT skills- good working knowledge of MS Office
Ophthalmic theatres and/or A&E and Outpatient department
Clinical Governance and relevant healthcare legislation, managing and prioritising caseload.
Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating individualised and evidence based nursing care.
Must be proactive, positive and optimistic attitude, be flexible and pragmatic, articulate and be able to work under pressure.
